What is the "sterilizing range" of UV?
The ultraviolet spectrum important for water and air disinfection is the range absorbed by DNA (200-300nm). While 254nm was traditionally used, our testing shows that 265nm, 275nm and 280nm UVC LEDs provide optimal disinfection as they match the peak of the DNA absorption curve.
How is the bactericidal effect determined?
UVC LED power intensity, wavelength and irradiation duration determine bactericidal effect. For any given wavelength, the power and exposure time must be calculated to achieve the desired disinfection level.
